Majorca History !
Similar to previous key islands of the Mediterranean, the amazing Majorca, attracting today thousands of visitors during the past used to attract a vast number of invaders as well as tourists, who have all with their own special way affected the island’s cultural and historical background as well as it’s current look .
The island of Majorca was connected to the peninsula as an underwater island when the shape of the Balearics took place a hundred and fifty million years ago but for most history didn't begin until the Catalans got again the island from the Moors in the 13th century. The privileged place of the Balearics brought Ibiza to became a significant commercial centre for first the Phoenicians . However historians trust that the Muslims began 200 years of attacks on the island at the beginning of the 8th century as the importance of the island’s place was obvious . However Roman culture is considered to have had the maximum impact on Majorca as far as public patterns were concerned even if the influence of the Moors was liable for the island's development in agriculture, crafts and commerce.
